Is Zero free to use?

Yes! You can use all 31 calculators without creating an account. Results are not saved. To unlock saving, daily finance tracking, and personalised defaults, upgrade to Standard tier for a one-time payment of £0.99 or redeem a code from the book.

What is included with the book code?

Every copy of the Zero: Financial Knowledge book includes a single-use code that unlocks Standard tier access at no additional cost. This gives you all calculators with saved data, plus daily finance tracking and partner linking.

How does the Digital Legacy Vault work?

The Vault uses end-to-end encryption (AES-256-GCM) to store your important accounts, documents, and contacts. Only you hold the decryption keys — we cannot access your vault data. You can set up next-of-kin access so trusted people can request access under conditions you define.

What happens if I forget my vault password?

At Vault enrolment, you are given a 24-word recovery phrase. This is the only way to recover vault access if you forget your password. If you lose both your password and recovery phrase, your vault data is permanently unrecoverable. We cannot assist with recovery as we do not hold decryption keys.

Are the calculator results accurate?

All calculator outputs are illustrative estimates based on the inputs you provide and current UK tax year thresholds. We update regulatory figures promptly after each Budget and at the start of each tax year. You should always verify figures before making financial decisions.

Does Zero provide financial advice?

No. Zero is an educational and personal finance management tool. It does not provide regulated financial advice. All calculators, projections, and educational content are for illustrative and informational purposes only. Consult a qualified, FCA-regulated financial adviser for personalised advice.

How do I cancel my Vault subscription?

Vault subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Cancel through your device’s subscription settings. After cancellation, you have a 30-day grace period with read-only vault access before data is permanently destroyed.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Financial data uses SQLCipher encryption. Vault data is end-to-end encrypted — we only store ciphertext. We use Supabase Row Level Security so only you can access your records. We never sell your data to third parties.
